Dr. Shane Wingler
Background & Education
Dr. Shane Wingler, originally from Ferguson, NC, grew up with a love for the outdoors, spending time hunting, fishing, and helping with work on his family’s land. These early experiences fostered a strong sense of craftsmanship, problem-solving, and pride in hands-on work.
Dr. Wingler’s interest in dentistry developed after forming a close relationship with his family dentist, inspiring him to pursue a career that combines health, fitness, and service to others.
He completed a Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the UNC School of Dentistry. Committed to expanding his skills, especially in dental implants, Dr. Wingler completed the Implant Pathway Continuum in Tempe, Arizona, where he provided care to veterans.

Dr. Wingler is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and International Congress of Implantologists. He is also a participant in the Spear Study Club.
Outside Of Work
In his free time, Dr. Wingler enjoys outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and running. He is also passionate about cooking, grilling, and spending quality time with his family.
Dr. Ashton Fioravanti
Background & Education
Originally from Midland, Texas, Dr. Ashton Fioravanti relocated to North Carolina in middle school, where she attended Rockingham County Middle and High School and participated in competitive horseback riding. After experiencing several years with braces and multiple oral surgeries, her interest in dentistry grew.
Dr. Ashton began her journey in the field as a volunteer dental assistant during high school, quickly discovering her passion for patient care and assisting with complex procedures.
She graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry. She then earned her dental degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Known for her commitment to patient satisfaction, Dr. Ashton is certified in oral conscious sedation and is dedicated to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for all patients in Lexington, NC.

Dr. Ashton is a member of the American Dental Association and North Carolina Dental Society. She also participates in a local Spear Study Club, where she collaborates with colleagues on challenging cases.
Outside Of Work
A devoted animal lover, Dr. Ashton has fostered numerous dogs over the last 15 years, volunteering with local rescues to find them loving homes. She enjoys hiking with her family and their two dogs, Shortbread and Opie, and spending time in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Dr. Ashton is also an avid traveler who loves exploring diverse cultures and connecting with people worldwide.
Dr. Nick Cornwell
Background & Education
Dr. Nick Cornwell, a committed dental care provider at Carolina Pines Dentistry, brings extensive knowledge and a passion for dentistry. Originally from Abington, Pennsylvania, and raised in Branchburg, New Jersey, Dr. Cornwell was inspired to pursue dentistry to make a positive and immediate impact on others’ lives. His upbringing encouraged a strong sense of compassion and service, which he carries into his practice.
He earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting with a minor in biology from NC State, creating a solid foundation for his dental career. His dedication to patient care led him to East Carolina University, where he obtained his dental degree.
Dr. Cornwell is committed to advancing his expertise through continuing education, including training at the Kois Center in Seattle and the Alleman Center in Salt Lake City, where he focused on comprehensive care and advanced adhesive techniques.
